The Best Beer You Can’t Buy

Leaping Geezer is a small-batch homebrew project rooted on the shores of Lake Erie. We brew a wide range of styles, design every label ourselves, and share it all with friends on the Bluff. Somewhere along the way, it picked up its own soundtrack, including two full albums we had no business making but did anyway, Westward Chairs and MUDPUPPY.

It’s not for sale, not for scale, and not trying to be anything other than really good beer made for the people who show up.

The 2026 Lineup

Angry Dwarf

Altbier

Brew date Feb. 15, 2026

Altbier means “old beer,” and in Düsseldorf they’ve been brewing it this way for centuries. Top-fermented like an ale but conditioned smooth and steady like a lager, it pours deep amber with toasted malt depth and a firm hop bite. Balanced and built the traditional way, this is old-world craft with a modern roar. Malty backbone. Crisp edge. No soft corners. A beer that stands its ground and finishes clean. Raise it high, slam it down, and demand another with foam in your beard and fire in your eyes. Prost!

Argo's Revenge

Russian Imperial Stout

Brew date Feb. 1, 2026

Argo’s Revenge is a Russian Imperial Stout forged in fire and launched straight into legend. Roasted barley, caramel, and chocolate malts build a deep, full-bodied darkness, while black walnuts and warrior hops deliver bold, heroic bite. A touch of honey steadies the storm without softening the edge. Rich, layered, and built to endure, carrying fire across black water, this is a stout for nights when the seas get rough and the stories get better. Some legends burn. The good ones sail on.

Beelzebeer

Pumpkin Spice Ale

Brew date July 19, 2026

Beelzebeer is a Pumpkin Spice Ale that’s devilishly delightful. Brewed with Pale, Dark Munich, Crystal, and Chocolate malts, it delivers rich, warming flavor with a subtle earthy balance from Fuggle hops.

A haunting blend of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, and clove brings the unmistakable magic of autumn.

We probably shouldn’t have summoned it, but here we are. Beware...it’s frightfully delicious! 🕸️🎃

Blufftoberfest

Märzen

Brew date July 5, 2026

The Märzen beer style, integral to Oktoberfest, boasts a rich history, with its name derived from the month of March when it was historically brewed. Märzen beers are known for their malt-forward profile, toasted bread flavors, and a clean, dry finish. Blufftoberfest proudly carries these characteristics, offering a balanced, full-bodied flavor that's both a nod to the heritage of Märzen and a staple at Leaping Geezers' Blufftoberfest celebration. Zicke zacke, zicke zacke, hoi hoi hoi!

Cerberus

Cerberus Munich Helles is a smooth, easygoing lager with just enough bite to earn the name. Brewed with traditional German grains and noble hops, it pours bright gold with a clean, balanced profile, soft malt sweetness, and a crisp finish that never overstays its welcome.

Inspired by the classic Munich style, this is a beer built for long afternoons, second pours, and guarding the tap like it’s the gates themselves. Drinkable, dependable, and just a little dangerous. Prost!

Czech One Two

Czech Dark Lager

Brew date July 26, 2026

Czech One Two steps to the mic and doesn’t miss. This Czech Dark Lager layers smooth roasted malt over a crisp, clean backbone, with Saaz hops adding just enough earthy spice to keep things sharp. Notes of toasted bread, cocoa, and a touch of caramel round things out, delivering depth without dragging it down. Rich without being heavy, balanced without being boring, it finishes clean and leaves you ready for the next round. Traditional Czech brewing, turned up just enough. Na zdraví.

Dawn Patrol

Irish Cream Chocolate Stout

Brew date April 5, May 3, and Nov. 8, 2026

The night’s not over. It’s just getting interesting. Dawn Patrol is a rich Irish Cream Chocolate Stout built for the final round. Dark chocolate leads the way, followed by smooth Irish whiskey warmth, with almond and vanilla adding a soft, dessert-like sweetness without going overboard. This is the stout you reach for when the fire’s low, the air’s cool, and someone says, “One more?” Raise a glass to that quiet hour before sunrise, when the night makes its last stand and flavor takes command.

DünkinBock

Dunkelbock

Brew date Oct. 4, 2026

DünkinBock is a dark miracle of malt and mischief, brewed in honor of the monk who took his devotion above the rim. Smooth caramel and toasted grain give it depth, while a touch of chocolate keeps things sinfully rich and satisfying.

Legend says he leapt from the rafters, stein in hand, and found enlightenment midair — proving once and for all that faith, flavor, and flight can indeed coexist. We can’t confirm the story, but we can pour the proof.

For Your Rye Only

For Your Rye Only is a German-style Rye Lager that blends tradition with intrigue, delivering a crisp, spicy malt backbone worthy of a secret mission. No theatrics, no gimmicks, just a quiet confidence that holds steady until the job is done. Serve it neither shaken nor stirred.

The Frothy Goat

Maibock

Brew date March 1, 2026

The Frothy Goat is a traditional German Maibock, the strong, golden Bock brewed to welcome spring. In medieval Bavaria, monks tended the kettles and refined the rich malt backbone that still defines the style today. Smooth, gently sweet, and clean on the finish, this Maibock carries its strength with quiet confidence. The goat has long symbolized Bock, and this one seems perfectly content with foam on its chin, sunlight on its back, and nowhere else to be.

Grace's Irish Red

Irish Red Ale

Brew date April 5, May 3, and Nov. 8, 2026

Grace’s Irish Red Ale is named for Grace O’Malley, the Pirate Queen of Ireland and a distant ancestor of one of our brewers. Fierce, independent, and famously ungovernable, she’s the perfect namesake for a proper Irish red. This malt-forward ale pours a deep amber with notes of toasted bread, gentle sweetness, and subtle grainy warmth. Soft floral and earthy hops keep it balanced, while classic Irish ale yeast delivers a clean, nutty finish. Steady, confident, and quietly formidable. Sláinte!

Harvest Wheat

Autumn Wheat Ale

Brew date Aug. 9, 2026

Harvest Wheat is brewed for that in-between season, when summer hasn’t quite let go and fall is already taking over. Built on 2-row barley, red wheat, and dark crystal malts, it brings a smooth caramel warmth and a rich amber glow that mirrors the turning fields. Mount Hood hops add a subtle herbal spice to keep things balanced. Like a walk through the harvest maze, it’s easy to wander into and even easier to stay a while. Around here, nobody’s in a hurry to find their way out of summer.

Haze Josh

Groovy IPA

Brew date March 15, 2026

Originally called Crybaby IPA after Josh complained when we said we were over IPAs, Haze Josh is the hazy we brewed for the youngest guy in the crew, who still feels like everyone could be a little nicer to him. Loaded with Chinook, Sabro, and Simcoe, it leans into juicy tropical fruit with a soft citrus edge and just enough bite to keep it honest. Omega Helio Gazer yeast pushes it further into bright, hazy territory, turning every sip into a smooth, fruit- forward ride that’s easy to come back to. Turns out, Josh might’ve had a point.

Juice the Wheat

Tangelo Wheat Ale

Brew date April 12, 2026

This exceptionally light and crisp American wheat beer is brewed with premium 2-row barley and white wheat malts. It offers a delicate balance of floral spice and bright citrus notes, highlighted by a touch of grapefruit. Layers of orange marmalade and soft peach add depth, while fresh tangelo juice brings a refreshing balance of sweetness and tartness to the finish. Clean, vibrant, and endlessly drinkable, it’s no surprise this summer favorite rarely leaves the tap. Cheers!

Miscreant Squirrel

Nut Brown Ale

Brew date Jan. 4, 2026

Miscreant Squirrel is a winter brown ale built on roasted and crystal malts that bring notes of toasted bread, biscuit, caramel, and toffee, with a soft nutty warmth and a faint tang like fresh sourdough at the hearth. Brewed in the quiet cold of January, it’s a fireside ale for long evenings, small comforts, and the understanding that somewhere nearby… a squirrel is probably getting away with something.

The sun’s dropping, the water’s still warm, and you’re not done yet. Some waves are worth chasing.

Pool Boy

Cerveza Mexicana con Lima

Pool Boy is a crisp Mexican-style lager with a splash of bright lime and a permanent summer attitude. Light, clean, and endlessly refreshing, it balances smooth malt character with a lively citrus snap that keeps every sip sharp without overthinking it. Built for golden evenings on The Bluff or that well-earned first crack after mowing the lawn and pretending yard work was a personal fitness choice, it’s cold in the glass and easy in the moment. Grab one and turn heat into happiness and chores into victories.

Pucker Up!

Lemon Wheat Ale

Brew date May 24, 2026

Pucker Up! is a bright, refreshing wheat beer built on a smooth blend of white wheat and 2-row barley malts. A light touch of Willamette hops keeps things balanced on the lower end of the IBU scale, letting the real star take center stage. Fresh lemon juice and a late addition of lemon peel deliver a crisp, zesty punch, while grains of paradise add a subtle hint of spice and a clean, peppery finish. It’s light, lively, and just tart enough to make you react… whether you’re ready for it or not.

Resolution

Kölsch

Brew date Nov. 22, 2026

Resolution Kölsch is a crisp, clean German-style ale brewed to mark the turning of the year. Light-bodied and refreshing, it’s built for late nights, fresh starts, and the fleeting optimism that comes with watching the ball drop in Times Square. Bright malt character and a delicate finish keep things simple, balanced, and easy to enjoy, no matter how ambitious your plans may be.

Inspired by New Year’s Eve traditions, this golden pour is here for the countdown, the toast, and whatever comes after. You don’t even have to believe in resolutions to enjoy one. Drink it while the optimism lasts!

Santa's Retribution

Spiced Holiday Ale

Brew date June 14 and Oct. 18, 2026

Santa’s Retribution is a holiday spiced ale brewed with the spirit of yuletide vengeance. Orange blossom honey, ginger, cinnamon, and orange peel come together in a bold, warming punch that could wake a hibernating reindeer. Our first attempt at a Christmas ale delivered its own twisted comedy when the spice bag slumped into two floating ornaments that looked like they belonged on the hitch of a lifted F-150. We named it Santa’s Teabag and it got even by tasting awful, so we dumped the batch and swore revenge. This new recipe is the payoff. It’s a flavor-packed reckoning straight off the North Pole’s real naughty list.

Sassy Elf

Eggnog Imperial Ale

Brew date Nov. 1, 2026

Sassy Elf isn’t your average holiday ale. It’s a playful rebellion wrapped in warm vanilla and nutmeg, brewed in honor of the moment when the innocent word “sassy” unexpectedly became legend. This Eggnog Imperial Cream Ale is smooth, festive, and just a little subversive, with a name that nods to a past misadventure now preserved in stories, inside jokes, and even a friend’s pontoon boat. Raise a glass to keeping your spirit and your sense of humor afloat. Just don’t call this elf sassy. We all remember how that ends.

Smokehouse

Rauchbier

Brew date April 19, 2026

Cherrywood crackles in the smokehouse as barley spreads across the mesh trays, soaking in a sweet, aromatic haze. In the warm, resinous air, a slow curling fog wraps itself around each grain while maltsters turn it by hand, letting the smoke work its way in. Smokehouse isn’t an ordinary lager. It’s a ritual of fire and grain, where every wisp of smoke writes itself into the malt. When the work is done, it doesn’t just linger in the grain. It follows it all the way to the glass. Take a sip and you’ll get it. This is smoke to savor.

Thursty's IPA

Session IPA

Brew date Mar. 29, 2026

Thursty’s IPA was made for Beaver Island days when the tanks run low but the cooler doesn’t. Named after Ray’s famously thirsty plane and inspired by Sassy, the pontoon that never met a full tank it couldn’t empty, this smooth, easy-drinking IPA keeps things rolling. Bright, crisp, and endlessly drinkable, it’s built for long afternoons by the water, where you burn through beers the way Thursty burns through gas, watching the sun drift down over Lake Geneserath. No one’s checking the gauge.

Vienna Geezer

Vienna Lager

Brew date Aug. 23, 2026

Vienna Geezer is a refined Vienna lager built on rich, kilned malts that deliver smooth, toasty sweetness and a warm amber glow. Noble Hallertau and homegrown Saaz hops bring a balanced bitterness with a subtle floral edge.

Inspired by 19th-century Austrian brewer Anton Dreher, a pioneer of the Vienna lager, this beer honors tradition while keeping one foot firmly in the present.
Elegant, balanced, and quietly confident. Prost.

Willo High Life

Pilsner

Brew date May 31 and Dec. 20, 2026

Let's raise our glasses to the incredible dads who filled our lives with laughter and love. The vivid memories of them working in the yard in their white socks and New Balance sneakers, telling classic dad jokes all comes back anytime you crack open our homage to a typical Dad Beer.

Why did the beer file a police report?
Because it got mugged...

Cheers to our dads! 🍻

Sitting This One Out

Not every recipe makes the cut every year—we've sidelined these for 2026. But then again, we could always change our minds!

One & Done

Belgian Dark Tripel

Brew date TBD

Inspired by the legendary Trappist ales of Belgium, One & Done Belgian Dark Tripel takes a darker, stronger path. The biggest hitter in the LG lineup, it swaps the classic golden Tripel profile for a richer, roasted malt depth layered beneath a smooth, spicy, fruit-forward Belgian character. It’s bold, complex, and dangerously easy to drink for something this powerful.

Around here, one might be perfect. Two might be a story. The name is not kidding. Santé!

Pilsener of Eastlake

American Pilsener

Brew date TBD

Brewed with pride on the shores of Lake Erie, P.O.E is a crisp American pils paying homage to its roots, honoring the original 1933 Pilsener of Cleveland. A modern echo of a post-Prohibition pioneer, this beer balances light malt sweetness with a clean hop bite, reviving Northeast Ohio’s brewing heritage. The label shows the towering smokestacks of the Eastlake Power Plant, a beacon on the lakefront and a nod to the industrial soul that fueled the region’s grit and flavor.

Snake Oil

Schwarzbier

Brew date TBD

Snake Oil Schwarzbier is a German-style dark lager with a flair for deception and a talent for charm. Smooth, roasty, and just bold enough to keep you guessing, it’s brewed to cure what ales you. Named for those silver-tongued scoundrels who sold miracle tonics by day and out-drank their customers by night, leaving behind nothing but laughter, lies, and empty glasses. Some say the recipe’s a cure-all, pardner, and you won’t catch us disagreein’.

This Ain't India?

Pale Ale

Brew date TBD

Embark on a voyage with this Pale Ale… but don’t get your hopes up. India isn’t on the map.

Brewed with Columbus hops, it delivers a bold, balanced bitterness layered with earthy, citrusy character and a clean aromatic finish. It’s a nod to the navigator’s historic miscalculation and a reminder that not all ales need to be IPAs.

Bold yet straightforward, this is a Pale Ale that knows exactly where it stands… just not in India.

Bananza

Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Porter

Brew date TBD

Bananza is a luscious chocolate peanut butter porter that’s all about celebrating bold flavors. The fermentation process is adjusted to highlight the banana esters prominent in the yeast. Dark, rich, and delightfully malty, it’s the perfect companion for the upcoming Northeast Ohio winter.
